Mashable - The Social Media Guide: Ask the President Your Question at a Press Conference

Kyle Sellers · 8 months agoThis is a great idea! By having all of the questions submitted ahead of time, Obama will be able to have the Teleprompter programmed and ready to go when he answers!

Adam Ostrow · 8 months agoI left that commentary out of my article, but agreed, this is a slam dunk because he can prepare for all the top questions on the site.

Kyle Sellers · 8 months agoI think that if we want to avoid "spin" in politics, politicians should not be able to prepare for the questions. I like this idea conceptually for "seeing what's on people's minds," but I wouldn't be able to take any press conference seriously where the person being questioned had been known in advance.

Robert NYC · 8 months agowhy would Obama answer questions now? Anything personal is either protected by lawyers or off limits. Has anyone seen his college transcripts? Why not?
-
Robert NYC · 8 months agoSeriously - what grades did he get in economics? business classes? What classes did he actually take? Did he get an 'F' in ethics? We have seen every Presidents school records AND birth certificate - every one - except his. Why? What makes you think he will answer questions?

Gadget Sleuth · 8 months agoI commend the Obama administration for being more open to the Web and its opportunities...but I also agree it gives him a chance to prepare for questions in advance, not a catalyst for honesty sometimes.

H.K. · 8 months agoI'd probably ask him what he plans to do to keep the evolution of the internet safe and intact. As things transition digitally these levels of identity theft etc. aren't going to be acceptable. Fortunately sites like This allow consumers to empower themselves in the security arena.

Gary Hansen · 8 months agoAfter serving my country for 4 years in the Marine Corps, I then got a job and worked my way up to a Director level in a large Company. I was recently laid off after 23 years due to a company wide restructure and am now looking for a job. While job searching for the past 4 months, the similar job and pay scale that I was doing all require a college degree. Its as if I am being penalized for serving my country. I can't even get in the front door to talk to the right people because of this. This is no incentive for young people to join the military.

jay · 8 months agoWhat is the need for a caravan of RED CRESCENT vehicles , loaded on flatbed trailers heading to Selfrige Air Base in Michigan? These were seen first-hand . I know the history of this symbol, and it makes no sense to have vehicles with this MUSLIM symbol on AMERICAN soil, at all !! An explanation is required, unless our leader lied about his MUSLIM background.

Valerie Emerson · 4 months agoWhen will our Government force a 50/50 trade agreement. We import 50 % of theirs they get 50% of ours. Lets stop importing any thing from countries which wont take our things to sell to their people.
