Mashable - The Social Media Guide: Apple Starts Tweeting About iTunes

Apple is a company that definetely doesn’t often jump bandwagons. However, this is a good start.

    iTunes blows :D

I used to hate it. Now, I use it all the time. Probably because of the iPhone integration. The Remote app is the coolest for when we have parties.

Also, I noticed they're using "tinyurl." HAHA

I also hate the fact they force you to use it if you want to have an iPhone/iPod. I genuinely hate iTunes for several reasons:
    1. It's painfully slow on PCs (we're not all rich enough to have Macs, mind you)
    2. Shuffle & Party Shuffle != Random Play
    3. Songs keep disappearing on me
    4. Numerous cases of people losing libraries
    5. Not customizable AT ALL

And for that, I think Songbird > iTunes. Either way I don't use a media player on my PC, I just play music through my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.

    Steve Jobs Tweet?

Are you kidding me? This is a guy who hates public exposure of any kind.

They've been tweeting since around the time iTunes 9 was released (9/9/09). There is also an iTunes Facebook account that was giving away free songs for becoming a fan. Granted, it was like 20 Indy songs that no one, except the artist and a few people at Starbucks, had ever heard of.

I find myself using my iPhone as a temporary flashlight at times (like, coming home at night when I forgot to leave the porch light on and I can't see the doorknob), so the Light application will be very useful.

I haven't used it yet, but Urbanspoon looks like a great idea for deciding on a restaurant (especially for the indecisive types like me).

It might of been just me that missed that part of the article, but how is that relevent?

No idea how that relates, but if you have Cydia installed you should grab the flashlight app from there instead. Unlike the app store ones, it isn't restricted from changing your brightness setting, so it will be a brighter white.

I think it's a good concept but at the end of the day Apple earns enough money (no dobut due to highly priced products) so why would they need to tweet about different artists on iTunes?

Personally it seems that iTunes and iPods are the only products that are keeping Apple afloat, if they didn't have them ... maybe it could have been different.

iTunes has been twittering in Canada since earlier this year. It's actually pretty interesting and less corporate. http://twitter.com/iTunesCanada
