I agree with you. Shutting off the sneak peak will only make some mad and they might not go see it. I, myself, am very excited about it and would have liked to see the trailer.

I was at Comic-Con yesterday and the music in this trailer is not the same as the one shown at the panel (they one they showed us made the movie seem more like a fantasy; the orchestrated music here makes it feel like an action movie). Plus if this was the real thing it would have been blurry because it was shown in 3D.

You know the thing is Disney has to protect it's corporation just like every other corporation does.. to go as far as to call one of the most widely successful companies of all time money hugging and greedy and deceiving is tragic seeing as ALL corporations hug money... EVERYOE is hugging money right now. Think about this.. movie trailer leaked easily... movie comes out, obviously it will leak somewhere... as easily as this movie trailer leaked, the movie may be easier, America is in a recession, everyone needs money, Disney realizes how much money they could lose, logical conclusion, use your copyright laws given to you by America and control your product, you stamped your name on it. That sounds like what all companies do to me at least.

People will always hate Disney for being a company that runs things the right way, runs America with their product and does a very good job of doing so. If people opened their eyes to the happiness they are trying to bring to the world, many people would be much more content with some of the things the company does.

It's showbiz, it's the media.. the two will never be fond of each other, but both will need each other to strive for eternity.

Are people truly surprised that Disney would do this? The corporation is so concerned with protecting their copyrighted images that they've done things like sue a day care in florida over using images of the characters in posters. I highly doubt they even took a second to think about protecting the alice trailer and making sure it wasn't released without their okay.
Who knows what their reasoning was--maybe it's as simple as a five year old complaining about why he doesn't want to share: "BECAUSE IT'S MINE!!"
And yeah, it was a stupid move. Rather than just let it happen, all they've done is remind people about the ugly, corporate, money-grubbing face behind that glittery castle and sweet little mouse.

The story seems a little bit different, but I like the Tim Burton's movies and always it's great to see a Johnny Depp character so I'm sure this movie will be a hit!

They didn't have it post on youtube because they knew it would get even more attention from websites like this if they took it down. It's all in the mind of numbers. But you never know, the video could have had more hits if it was let up rather then taken down and left to news sites to mention.

Why didn't they at least re-cut a quick teaser trailer and have it replace the version they don't want on YouTube. They could have it direct people to a facebook group (doesn't have to be fb) so they could at least harvest all this interest from devoted fans... then from now till March 2010 engage with them and empower fans to spread the word for the movie. Everyone know word-of-mouth is the most influential marketing... but so many businesses fail to embrace social media that could provide them with the word-of-mouth they know is like gold

Amazing what people care about. Who cares if the trailer is not up, you can watch it in a few days or in the theater. Don't worry so much about missing this trailer, I'm sure between now and next year, you will be getting to hear a LOT about this movie. Plus, Disney can let it viral on YouTube for free anytime they want.

I didn't like Johnny Depp in Charley and the Chocolate Factory and I'm not sure how I feel about him being the Mad Hatter. His personality doesn't really fit the character.
