I've tried most of these apps. Notes is OK, but seems to be very laggy. It pulls 2 or 3 items from my RSS feed, then stops.
I've never gotten the Twitter app to show up on my personal profile page or my Facebook business page. It does work, however, if you want Twitter to update your Facebook status.
Blog RSS Feed Reader is OK, too, but ultimately I want my blog items to be posted on my wall and on my fans' homepages. Unless I'm missing something, this app doesn't do that. Or maybe it's buggy.
Really all I want is the same functionality we have on personal profiles to import items from other services. I upload all my videos to blip.tv or YouTube; why should I have to upload it again to Facebook to have it show up on my wall?? The same for RSS feeds - it's so easy to import RSS feeds on personal profiles. Why is this so buggy and difficult on Facebook pages?
All in all, my Facebook pages experience so far has been really frustrating. I'm sitting back and waiting for more reliable, easier features before I go all out promoting our page.

I am sitting here having the exact same problem as you. RSS feed is bogus, Twitter doesn't work, and all I want is my business page to be like my profile page. UGH!!!

My company just released an app that is exactly what you want: install the app, tell us where your YouTube feed is (blip.tv coming soon), and it will create a "Videos" tab on your fan page (and secret power: personal pages, too) with your videos. We are senior technologists so the app is solid and if there is a problem we will respond promptly.

Went down the same road; importing a feed through notes works, but it seems to be updating only twice a day; and it doesn't show up on fan's newsfeed, which actually makes it quite worthless. also tried out all the involver-stuff - same problem.
I have 3 services I'd like to update simultaneously: till now the friendfeed-twitter-combo worked fine, updating them throug ff-bookmarklet worked like a charm; then i wanted to import the FF into the fb page = nada. Now I'm updating the 3 with ping.fm, which works perfectly, with the restriction that it's status updates and not notes.
I agree. Almost everything I want to try for my business page only shows up on my profile, which is NOT where I want this stuff!

Agreed re Involver. They launched some great new Fan page tools that are worth a look. I just recommended them to one of my clients and there were very impressed.
I have created a new app that is becoming popular, it is called SMS-Me.
SMS-Me allows you facebook page visitors to send you text messages without you having to give out your cell number! They type a message, click Send, and it goes directly to your cell phone!
Fantastic list of features. Going to be digging around all of these and trying to implement.

Great list. However after spending about 20 minutes with your Notes idea I have no idea how you get the RSS feed capability??? Did you mean simply copy and paste or am I just blind?

There's an import a blog link on the right side when you try to edit the app..
Fox ex: if you've added the app to a fan page, click edit button below the page pic and then go to the app(notes) and click edit, then you'll see import a blog link.
Involver also makes some good, easy to use applications for Facebook. People have mentioned difficulties with the "real" Twitter app on Pages; Involver has one that might work better until Facebook/Twitter sort out their difficulties.
Slight Correction, Involver will work better even after Facebook and Twitter sort out their difficulties :)

Wildfire app was the winner of the FBfund and is something that can be used to easily generate contests and sweepstakes for your business. Great list, but have you seen the most recent user ratings on the 1st two apps? A whole bunch of "1 star" votes. I'm sure those folks wanted to give it zero stars, but alas, there wasn't the option. The wall posts aren't any better. I'll have to be honest and say that that doesn't really entice me to check those apps out! What is even more puzzling to me is: since this is all part of Social Networking, why would any app developer in their right mind allow those kinds of ratings and comments to go on (and on, etc.) without jumping in there with a simple "We have heard your complaints and are working hard on rectifying the problems. We'll let you know right away when the problems are corrected! Thanking you for your patience - bla bla bla." It just makes no sense to my pea-brain unless it is all user error; in which case the developer should still post something... anything!

Can you point me to a page that has the twitter app in it? I tried adding the application but was not able to get it to show up on our RAIT Alumni Magazing [RAM]'s facebook fanpage at http://www.facebook.com/pages/RAIT-Alumni-Magaz... I was able to add the twitter app to my personal list of applications (just above the status bar) but I dont think it shows up in a box on my profile. Any suggestions?

The Twitter app has never worked for me except to update my status. So it's not just you.
BTW, thanks for the suggestion of the Involver apps. They are by far the best page apps out there, and the developers look like they're on the ball. I just wish the best apps like this were more visible in the wonky Facebook Apps search page.

Just a thought, every time I try to launch an app to our page, I have to log in as me from my fb profile and the app ends up going to my profile instead of our business page. any thoughts, this has been stymieing me for a while?

Great article. Wishing I would have stumbled across it before I set up our Group page (Dialogue with our Daughters). Probably a "Page" would have been a better bet. Once I get some time, I will have to figure out how to transfer it over....

The Twitter app doesn't post to Facebook pages, it only updates your personal Facebook Profile status. I'm still looking for a good solution for updated my work's Page (I'm the main admin) with my works' Twitter account. I use the Selective Twitter app to update my personal Profile status with designated Twitter posts -- my FB friends hated how often the Twitter app (which posts ALL Tweets) was updating my personal FB status.

Yes it does. Once you've installed the app, you can go into its settings and add it to a page. You can't add it to multiples pages, and you can't use multiple Twitter accounts, though. You would have to delete the app, reinstall it with your job's account settings, and then add it to your job's page. It kind of puts a damper on things, but I'm hoping that Twitter will fix this in the future.

I recently set up our business page in facebook. I'm having problems setting up any of the HTML, or FBML apps on my business page. Every time I try to add one, it goes to my personal profile. Is there any way to add this kind of thing to a business page? thanks!

That Blog RSS Feed Reader is great but it doesn't work properly. Even when I tell it to move the box to my wall tab it doesn't display there at all. And if I have to keep it on the boxes tab of my fan page then I don't want it. Does anyone know what app Pink by Victoria Secret used to create the "The Scoop" tab that is now on their fan page profile? I would like to create something like that. The other apps work great though.
