Great stuff. I´ll try it soon :-)
  • James Ronald · 6 months ago
Twibeo is a site similar to twibeo that lets thousands of people share what they are doing using photos, text and even videos.

You keep forgetting snaptweet. It's pure brilliance as so many people already have Flickr accounts and it's super easy to set up.
  • Laith · 6 months ago
http://twtmug.com will post your Smugmug photos to twitter too
  • clutterbells · 6 months ago
    Great article. So many options.
  • Peter Obendorfer · 6 months ago
I think you should also mention for heading 2 that TwitPic also handles pics by mail!
    Great post anyway!
  • sfharper · 6 months ago
    Very helpful :) Sheri
  • Emmanuel · 6 months ago
Hey, great article. Pikchur also allows you to post via MMS or Email (2nd option mentioned)
  • Benjamin Dobson · 6 months ago
    I use LittleSnapper. It's my third-most-used third-party Mac app—after Jumpcut and Tweetie.
  • Bob · 6 months ago
This is what happened when I tried to go to TweetPhoto. My virus program blocked it.

    Reported Attack Site!
This web site at www.tweetphoto.com has been reported as an attack site and has been blocked based on your security preferences.

Attack sites try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system.

Some attack sites intentionally distribute harmful software, but many are compromised without the knowledge or permission of their owners.

Thanks for the mention! Right after you did your first tweet a different emailadress is generated on the fly, so you don't need to use the username and password in the tweet... Also, we got a native iPhone app, a native WM app an Android app coming up and implementations in over 80 third party tools and apps...

And... You can also post video and audio using the same methods and we post it to multiple social sites and services.

    We also support geolocation....

Also keep in mind that some photo sharing services are more mobile-friendly than others. For example, viewing a Twitpic picture from iPhone shows the entire regular web page. Viewing a yFrog picture iPhone is a much better experience since you are served an iPhone-formatted full-size image.

Very disappointing that you left out ping.fm which has been around for quite a while and is used by such luminaries as Wil Wheaton and Molly Wood.
  • kevinrossen · 6 months ago
I agree. Ping.fm is my photo sharing of choice. Lots of options. Read about it here: http://pingfm.pbworks.com/Posting-Photos

    Wickid Article....

My multimedia sharing/online profiling preference is Posterous.com; multiple pictures, video and Audio notes are all supported (facebook integration is simply amazing)...i use it on my BlackBerry in conjuction with vPost (OTA download link http://go.mobihand.com?op=dlmh&pd=25673&l=1&ps=1) and now i can share media like never before....remember when you had to get pictures developed (doubles anyone?) :)
  • josh · 6 months ago
you guys completely forgot img.ly. To be honest, I don't even understand how you can name such a horrible service like yfrog. It's a pain in the eyes.
  • phil · 6 months ago
I'm using img.ly nowadays. Simply because it's the best looking service supported by Tweetie.
  • Adrian · 6 months ago
Tweetie = awesomeness. Image previewing is quick and simple with it - no browser needed. It also supports pix.im (which isn't mentioned in the article either).
  • John Hatzopoulos · 6 months ago
I like to use http://tweetree.com/ because it works very similar to twitter but resolves all the links people post so you don't have to leave the site to view the picture.
  • Bob Brinker · 6 months ago
Excellent article Josh. How about doing one on how to share your documents on twitter? http://TwitDoc.com is one to consider. Thanks!
  • 215dc1 · 6 months ago
    Use twitt pic!!!
  • Erin · 6 months ago
http://whrrl.com can also be used to upload photos and text, as well as location, to twitter. Here's an example from my twitter feed: "I'm at Molly Moon's. Delicious ice cream. Be jealous. http://whrrl.com/e/fiqz9"
  • JT · 6 months ago
While one of the later startups to the group and having been quietly in the background working on some great features, feel free to check out http://twitrpix.com as well.
  • Giridhar · 6 months ago
yFrog by imageshack is just as good as twitpic
  • jpdefillippo · 6 months ago
Personally I loath having to post photos on more than one site so to keep my workflow the same I email photos from my phone to Flickr as usual but set up a http://twitterfeed.com/ account to scrape my new photos and cross post them over to Twitter. That way my photos aren't spread out all over hell and back and it's totally automated.
  • EP · 6 months ago
Use Zannel - It allows you send pics and video, and also connects with Twitter, facebook, wordpress, etc. etc.
  • AC · 6 months ago
Um, why not just upload it anywhere (iDisk, etc.) and just link to it directly or via tinyurl or some such?
  • Grant Imahara · 6 months ago
Hey Josh, thanks for the mention! I've found Twitpic to be seamless. I take pictures using the iPhone and email them to Twitpic with whatever caption I want as the subject line. Couldn't be simpler! I love sharing behind-the-scenes pics via Twitter. It's like a running game where people try to figure out where we are and what we're doing...
  • John · 6 months ago
    here is my list
    1) twitpic - for being the biggest
    2) twitgoo - for being the richest (photobucket / myspace)
    3) img.ly - for being the best (user experience).
  • Donna Maria @ Indie Business · 6 months ago
Nice list, and I love the additional resources shared by others.

I am used to using Twitpic but am keen on trying out http://yfrog.com/ because it looks clean and simple too.
  • K N Ajit Narayan · 6 months ago
You missed out on TwitSnaps.com. Would be wonderful if Mashable reviews this site- http://twitsnaps.com/
  • Konrad · 5 months ago
what if you would like to show a few pictures, not just one? now you can do it easily on http://twtgal.com
  • sam8703 · 5 months ago
I would like rabbits http://imgtweet.com to post photos on facebook twitter identi.ca and others socialnetwork with the ability to resize your image online
  • FlashInspired · 4 months ago
ScreenTweet.com is another method. There is a web application to post images from web and mobile, and embed from pre-selected video sites. There's also an Adobe AIR Desktop application to take screenshots or drag and drop images to post.

  • Ted's Logo Mania · 3 months ago
Twitter really should add image sharing to its service. They should team up with a free image hosting service and then any picture they upload to Twitter will show up as a link and when you click the link it will show the tweet and picture in a new tab or window. Though it would be nice if the image could have a low resolution (but not to low) so the image would load faster on Twitter. Though the fact that Twitter is just for 140 words really makes the tweet a "tweet".
  • Ted's Logo Mania · 3 months ago
These services are good but I wish that Twitter let us share photos from the official Twitter site. Each tweet would include just one image and would count for so many characters in the 140 characters that your allowed to have in a tweet. This would make Twitter the best EVER!
