I'm not sure that the tag could widget works if you're using a custom url - that is if you're using a url that doesn't have the yoursite.tumblr.com format. I tried the preview feature and couldn't get it to work.

Great post. I would not that I use Tumblr as a repository for my FriendFeed and Twitter accounts as it serves as a backup and also helps with search engine optimzation for ego-type searches of my name. You can also use it to associate two terms. For example, my Twitter Id is Bill_Romanos but people do not search for this in Google, etc., so I set up Tumblr to associate my Twitter account with "Bill Romanos", "William Romanos", and "B.J. Romanos" - which are other versions of my name. Others may want to use Tumblr in this way as well - both for SEO and for associating two or more different terms.

You didn't see me here Jennifer, but good post! I'm actually looking for an easy way to add that sidebar widget that has the tiled icons of all the people you are following.

When Tumblr gets their support act together, I might be willing to give them a shot. Until then, bleh! I submitted a support request over a month ago with no response - even after trying to follow up a few times.

You don't consider the here featured Disqus as a precious plug-in for Tumblr? I was "in panic" when I realized tumblelog are uncommentable and I felt so safe when I mounted it! (Read more http://ow.ly/1yJu)

If I could get a Title and unique url for a photo post, I would be all about Tumblr, but without that I find it kind of limiting. I want to link to single posts on my Tumblr.
