You can click on the name of each app in the article above to see them in the app store. Pay no attention to the affiliate spam links posted by ohadpr. He seems to like spamming both here and TechCrunch with his affiliate link spam.

It's oenophile. Not vinophile. No matter how cute, charming, or hip you think it may be. It's actually more pretentious than the bottle of '98 Arbor Mist currently ageing in my vine cellar.

Thanks, Megan - We're honored to be listed in your top 5!

Just a quick note: The Hello Vino app will deliver actual wine brand recommendations along with the wine pairing suggestion. This way, you can grab the bottle off the shelf after you get the details from the app. To date, we've served over 1.5 million wine recos!

I’m wondering how it stacks up. I’m an iPhone owner looking to buy a wine app, but I’m a little overwhelmed by the number of available options.

Also check out Clinks, a wine journal that allows you to automatically share and synchronize your pairings, ratings, and notes with your Facebook friends… As far as we can tell, its' the only wine journal app for iPhone that does this.

I can't say these are the 'Top 5' ...the Paul Mabry article on Palette Press nailed these better in my opinion, but good article and nice detail

I'll put in another vote for: Wine Ph.D. ...even if the wine is missing from the dB just add it manually (really not that tough), and they will email you once it's been added to the dB (usually within a few days at most).

Wine Ph.D. is not perfect, but it's the best wine app I've used (and I've tried almost all of them).

Another great wine app is "Willamette Valley" - great reviews of new and up coming wineries. We just spent the weekend in Oregon and used this guide. Liked the fact that they point out the tourists traps, saved us some time and money.
