I bet Google is just following the law and taking down any videos on request by the copyright holders.
It would be a time consuming task to search for all existing movies in the universe, watch them and decide whether it infringes on copyright.
This just sounds like sensationalism.

All Google has to do is moderate the videos before posting them. It's not like they can't afford an army of people to look at videos before making them live. They should at least have a "this is a copyright violation" button like stage6.divx.com .

Google should not have to be responsible for other people breaking the law. It comes back to the fact that as long as google doesn't advocate piracy and does take down copyright infringed material when it is asked then by law, and I think morally, they are not in any trouble

google does not do illegal stuff. in fact google says not to upload copyrighted material. but lot of people dont care and upload so its available... hiring up hundrets of people to observe is for sure not a solution.
