Launching soon, Anylocalcharity.org and Anyglobalcharity.org mission is to create turnkey, easy to duplicate, low risk events that will provide a new revenue stream and engage new and existing donors to the sole benefit of the partner charity.

    KEY POSITIONING STATEMENT:
This core idea is a database, marketing and event agency rolled into one. This business model is perfect for the small to mid-sized non-profits that have little or no marketing staff or event personnel, but who are looking for a steady revenue stream and a way to further engage their existing donors. Another unique attribute of this business model is that it thrives in both the local or international community depending on the musician and wine chosen.

Many theatres and performance art companies are on twitter too, from all around the world. Often its easy to think of these companies as just selling a product, but in reality, almost all are non-profits and/or charities forced to depend on ticket sales to spread their message: there is value in the arts. Don't leave them out!

  • @Campsforkids · 8 months ago
Camps For Kids is a Kansas City, Missouri based non-profit organization dedicated to helping disabled and disadvantaged youth in our community experience the wonders and the very real benefits of summer camp.

Since 1980, we have expanded our mission and our reach. Camps For Kids now provides critical funding for over 30 Kansas City area camps, with an estimated 4,600 “special needs” kids. Our goal is to raise $500,000 to help these KC kids.

In 2006, we significantly increased the power of your Camps For Kids contribution by working to develop a matching pool of funds. Now, a $100 gift to Camp Quality, for example, can be turned into $200 when it's matched by dollars contributed by participating philanthropies.

I am what I would call a "high commitment" volunteer with a charity team called the NF Endurance Team which benefits the Children's Tumor Foundation. (I am spearheading our team's use of social media sites. It's a lot of work for a volunteer but I am very committed.) We are trying to use social media to better connect our team members nationwide to fulfill one of our goals of "providing a network of caring support for people with Neurofibromatosis." Our thought is that our team members strongly believe in our cause and will do what they can to spread word on SM sites if we give them the support to learn how to do it effectively. The greater sense of community these connections create further strengthens our team members commitment to the cause. People are much more likely to be moved to donate by appeals from highly committed team members they know rather than an anonymous request from a paid staff member. Still finding our way in many ways, but it has been intensely rewarding to be a part of it. I know the interactions with team members across the country that SM sites allow have at least strengthened my own resolve to find a cure. @nfenduranceteam

For those in SoCal, you can stop by our main office or our Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. We are a nearly 25 year-old environmental nonprofit that's dedicated to making Southern California's coastal waters and watershed, including Santa Monica Bay, safe, healthy and clean.

Twitter's been great for us so far, and is an ideal tool to get real time information out ranging from beach cleanups, sewage spills and other environmental issues, to sharing volunteer opportunites, educational content , special events and happenings (both ours and our partners, community's), or passing along key, local or political news and scientific reports, as well getting amazing updates from everyone we follow.

As an organization that encompasses research, education, community action and advocacy within our mission, there's a great diversity of content -- and we've found Twitter is a great additional channel that allows us to be more transparent, accessible and (obviously) social with those that are interested in supporting us or in following our work (which currently includes marine debris and plastics legislation, the Education and the Environment Initiative, review of industrial sea plants for desalination and once-through power cooling, as well as the development of Southern California Marine Protected Areas).

Thanks for putting this list out there so people know about some of the nonprofits in the Twitterverse.

I guess I'm in between not-for-profit & charity org, standing alone as I continue to raise much needed awareness to the 'silent killer', Ovarian cancer.
One woman dies every 10 hours
Ovarian Cancer is the 6th most common cause of cancer death in women. Ovarian Cancer is now more common than Cervical cancer & it kills many more women!

    My Twitwall post:
    Ovarian cancer kills-

It is the ONLY women's cancer, without a reliable screening method.Unlike that of Breast or Cervical, Ovarian cancer usually presents itself by way of symptom/s. These being our ONLY tools which we gauge the disease, and this is the CRUCIAL fragment which could mean life, or death.

However, we cannot begin to recognise these 'symptoms' as 'signals', unless we are well equipped to identify! This is where it becomes tricky, as many of ovca's [ovarian cancer] symptoms, are not unlike other typical health issues. This is why you will hear people describing it as presenting 'vague' symptoms.

Incase you missed my last 'ovca tweet', here it is again: OVARIAN CANCER-Symptoms.. http://bit.ly/PKZH2

Our organization was created in an effort to enable persons to realize their goals. We realized that many people fail to achieve their goals for many different reasons. More often than not, failure was the result of factors other than financial resources. So money is not always the answer to helping one reach their goals, but often a simple lack of information and/or direction.

Our efforts are focused towards filling those needs, by forming an organization of people who are knowledgable in specific areas of expertise. All applications for assistance are reviewed by this panel of experts and recommended resources are suggested for the individual based on their need to reach their goals.

The people we serve very often do not qualify for aid from traditional charities and non-profits, yet we feel their ambition to succeed and become a more valuable asset to society qualifies them for our assistance.

We are constantly seeking experts from any category, and invite those who would like to volunteer their knowledge to contact us.

    Thank you,
    Jonathan Myers
