  • Jesica Mahoney · 6 months ago
Thank you for all the useful info, there are so many to choose to it is nice to see them in one place with definitions, great work.
  • Freddy Mini · 6 months ago
Netvibes can manage as many twitter accounts as you need.
  • Ryan Farley · 6 months ago
You're missing the list of BlackBerry twitter clients:

    UberTwitter - http://www.ubertwitter.com/
    TweetGenius - http://www.thetweetgenius.com/
    TwitterBerry - http://www.orangatame.com/products/twitterberry/
  • Ryan Farley · 6 months ago
However, the BlackBerry options don't currently allow you to manage multiple accounts :-(
  • Spam · 6 months ago
...and that's exactly what I'm looking for. Do you hear us, BlackBerry app developers? :)
  • John Abo · 2 months ago
Seriously - I was never so happy not to have a blackberry. They really f'd u guys.
  • Spam · 2 months ago
(Oops, I hit "Like" instead of "Reply" on John Abo's post...mainly because there is no "Reply" button".)

John, way to comment on an article that's so old it's obsolete. UberTwitter can now manage multiple Twitter accounts, and it's so well-done that I sometimes find myself using it even when I have a PC or laptop right in front of me.

Check out Lounge for both the iPhone and OS X. Very nice app. I'm just a happy customer/user.
  • malko · 6 months ago
Thank to this post, I try twitterific now!

Good stuff, as always; I never get sick of your tweets.

Jennifer, great list as always! We have a few more of these in the catalog..

I would add ubertwitter (http://ubertwitter.com/), this is my preferred twitter client for the blackberry.
  • adizzy · 6 months ago
Have you guys tried bdule. Its in alpha but seems to work pretty well
  • AmyMimi · 6 months ago
very cool collection but i still dont understand why would someone have multiple accounts?
  • rogueresearcher · 6 months ago
Suppose you are involved in two different jobs or a job and a hobby with very different focuses - say, food journalism and wedding photography or showing beagles and energy policy. Or, in my case, researching on the Internet and writing about literature. The people following me as RogueResearcher are largely techie types. The people following me as AWriterReads are largely literary types. By having two twitter accts, I can interact with the two audiences separately, posting items of interest to only one on only one acct. I sometimes post the same item to both accounts, but in most cases tweak the wording to adapt it to the audience. Does that clarify?
  • mark · 6 months ago
Easy. One personal account, one company account (updates), one company account (customer service), multiple accounts for clients you're working for, etc. The list goes on.
  • Kent McGovern · 6 months ago
Another great web based app for managing multiple Twitter accounts is Hootsuit, http://hootsuite.com.
  • Jennifer Van Grove · 6 months ago
That's on the list Kent. :)
  • Amy Locurto · 6 months ago
I LOVE YOU right now!! LOL. Thanks for this post. Just saved me a ton of research time. I've been using different iPhone apps for each account. I didn't know one would manage them all.
  • Kevin Fair · 6 months ago
I'm fond of http://hellotxt.com. I can post to multiple Twitter accounts and all my other social networks too. I've tried many and this is the one I go back to.
  • Daan Tames · 6 months ago
Also check http://www.futuretweets.com - Schedule your (reoccurring) tweets in the future. Free, clean and working like a charm!
  • Michael Fidler · 6 months ago
I'm surprised there are no apps for the Blackberry. Did you come across any, but didn't think they were worth mentioning?
  • IdoNotes · 6 months ago
Michael, there is a bunch for Blackberry but none that do multi account support yet. Twitterberry, SocialScope and UberTwitter are just a few of them. I have run and tested all three.
  • TrafficVault.com · 6 months ago
Some good apps up there. I especially like Tweetlater and Tweetdeck. The pro version of Tweetlater is awesome.

If you are new to Twitter, you should check out our Twitter Guide.

Why do you not mention PeopleBrowsr. I know it is still in Alpha, but they will be in Beta soon and the service offers what is the topic of the post.
  • Carl Lee (?) · 6 months ago
TwitterFon Pro now has multiple account access... http://twitterfon.net/
  • Kandice · 6 months ago
I am obsessed with TweetLater and bit.ly to shorten everything and track. We've got a great social media campaign & are currently using it to find our next national spokeswoman. It's gonna be huge for a health care company!

This is the article I've been waiting for! Bookmarked. Now I can pipe down on Twitter about this subject. All my followers thank you.

I have tested a ton of twitter apps, and when it all came down to it, I preferred EventBox on my desktop Mac and Twitterfon (now Twitterfon Pro) on my iPhone. Twhirl is also good, but going to be phased out in favor of the terrible Seesmic Desktop (even the name's bad), and Tweetie seemed too confusing in terms of its interface. Beak, Syrinx, Nambu, Bluebird, Statuzer and TweetDeck all fell short in several ways. But it's good that there are many options. Unfortunately, there might not be a “perfect” twitter app for everyone.

Adding Cleartext's xIMpp to the desktop professional category. Handles multiple accounts and services via a SaaS model with a desktop XMPP (Jabber) end point.
  • Steven Walling · 6 months ago
One web-based one is ComboTweet (http://combotweet.com/client), which is an open source AJAX client which uses OAuth by default.

You missed the twitter gadget for gmail, check it out http://twittergadget.appspot.com

Great post and also thanks to everyone else for the blackberry client tips.

Inevitably, people will add extra favourites. My submission is Jadu's twitter module, as mentioned on VNUnet amongst other places.

Main thing with Jadu's twitter client is that it's integrated into the CMS, so it's ideal for local authorities, universities, businesses etc. More here http://bit.ly/fJHp1

Great Article. Some very useful applications for manage the Web2.0 sites. I prefer Eventbox but the others all have good features.
  • Billy Girlardo · 6 months ago
Thanks. I've been looking for a civil way to ask several followers to do so via a different ID of mine which would be more pertinent to their circle that I've apparently touched. Any ideas? TIA
  • Alex · 6 months ago
Did I mention Trigga.Me (http://www.trigga.me). Enables you to post to multiple twitter accounts (also to facebook, LinkedIn, Plurk, Plaxo an so on) and to groups of twitter accounts.
  • Gareth O' Neill · 6 months ago
There's also a new browser which has an integrated sidebar like Twitterfox called Flock. It's pretty cool but I'll definitely check out Twitterfox

Im a fan of tweeptracker.com I didn't see any web apps in the list that really help you manage your contacts. While I don't visit it daily, when I do want to clean up tweeps and see who's following and who's not, it saves a lot of time.
  • Sue · 6 months ago
Thank you, Mashable, for once again coming through with flying colors. I found TweetDeck through you, which was terrific. Now that I need a client to manage more than one account, I've found Seesmic. I knew I could count on you.
  • Ann Xaview · 5 months ago
I like to mention another twitter application http://twitRobot.com

First & Only tool which Follows 300 targeted Users at a time.
Auto Posting tweets from RSS, own list
    Shedule Future Tweets
    lots more features.

And yet, despite various small vocal usergroups complaining about it, we've yet to see a truly reliable portable twitter app. All these clients, each excellent in their own right, relies on Adobe's AIR or MSFT's .NET, preventing them from being carried from one machine to another.

    How disappointing.
  • Jhelo Cruz · 5 months ago
Thanks for these collection of Twitter apps. Will surely use one of these since I really have to manage several Twitter accounts.
  • Chris Thompson · 5 months ago
I just get aggravated there's not just a simple way to tell which account you're logged into on the Twitter site, so I built a simple little greasemonkey script that displays it in the upper right:

    Twitter Account ID

Are there any of these multiple Twitter apps available in Widget form? Specifically, I need something for my band's myspace.

hey man its awesome but i cant find the download link

CoTweet lets you manage only 6 accounts. For professional use this is not enough. In some countries a single account is tripled to allow one to publish in multiple languages.

    Jennifer or anyone,

I am looking for an application to assist in managing several FaceBook accounts at once.

I am an eMarketing Consultant and have several clients that want me to manage their FaceBook accounts. Is there an application that will provide me with a screen with multiple FaceBook accounts with only relevant information I choose to monitor? Or anything like this.

I would greatly appreciate anyone's assistance.

    Thank you,

    Victor Coll
