Wow thank you for this great write up. I have just come off of the phone from a business based HD video hosting company and it's really good to see this post and compaire the non-business alternatives all in one place. Online video services have really taken off in a professional way.

Fantastic list. I've become a big fan of HD online video, just wish there was more bandwith to support faster, clear streams. There are additional niche sites that I've recently discovered that have HD videos. Most of these get pulled onto youtube, but not the HD streams. For instance this how-to site howcast.com has HD vids, but their youtube videos or not.

I'm not sure if it's HD, but Australia's ABC has some online video for you too

    http://www.abc.net.au/tv/iview/

They call it "quality high resolution, full-screen video". I havent tried it yet,

Cool list with a bunch of lesser-known services, but for me I never go beyond Apple's site. If there is a trailer that is not on there I don't want to watch it. As for more serious content in HD, I'd really like it if Hulu went bigger than the puny 480p or whatever they call Hi Def.

There is a new HD content provider with amazing High Definition video! Look at www.RecastDigital.com/RDV1

It detects your computer's graphics card and chooses the best default depending on your bandwidth and system... I did try on my 47" Sony HDTV via laptop (VGA) and it look like BlueRay quality.

    D,

You missed a small company called Kulabyte -- www.kulabyte.com -- that has done some really cool Live HD things with MySpace recently. You should ask for a live HD demo from the founder Chris Gottschalk. For full disclosure I used to work with them and I personally have not seen anything that has been able to match Live HD video content in this list + they are partners of Adobe.

    Thanks,

    Jason

It appears that the CBS "Classics" are full eps, but the ongoing series I checked (CSI: Miami, Cold Case Files, Without A Trace), in either regular or HD, are short (approximately 2 minute) clips. Oh well.

It was neat watching Ricardo Montelban as a *Japanese* crime lord on Hawaii Five-O, however.
