This is great and invaluable. I'd also like to add the totally independent food webisode series and classic Italian online cooking show, htttp://www.cookingwithNonna.com, hosted by Rossella Rago. The show features Italian recipes that have been passed down for generations by grandmothers.....

If you're into organic, sustainable foods, topics and issues then check out Whole Foods Market's "Whole Story" blog: http://blog.wholefoodsmarket.com/

To be completely transparent, I used to work for Whole Foods Market and I LOVE the company.

I think organic, natural "slow" food needs to be part of this discussion. The socialyell bloggers at http://news.socialyell.com have done some great work this summer to focus on slow food and the sustainable food movement.

Nice post. I found a few foodie sites I have not heard of before. I usually visit http://www.FoodBlogs.com a few times a day. I like this site because it updates several times an hour with the latest postings from a ton of food blogs. I have already bookmarked about 30 favorites and have saved 40 descent recipes.

I'd like to add another one to this great list- http//www.cheffy.com
Cheffy has about 3000 recipes that can be searched in the usual way - but also by diet - number of calories, low fat, dairy-free, vegetarian, etc. And all the recipes have detailed nutrition info.
You can save favourites in your own cookbook and share with friends.
It's a UK site but recipes can be converted to US measures too.
