I stand corrected. Actually, I set the Turbo engine on automatic, since I've got a fast internet connection and I don't need the Turbo for all of the sites I visit.

I love choices, but all these different browsers and versions only makes my job (web developer) that much harder! If only these companies would all comply to a CSS standard that works consistently on all browsers... but Noooooooooooo! We have to run cross browser tests to make sure that our websites look the same in all of them. Thank God for tools like BrowserShots (http://browsershots.org/) -- otherwise we could never keep up!

well, me again, just to say: Opera 10 has been released on September 1st and, man, it's fast!
the claim has always been that Opera is the fastest browser on Earth, well, now that it's equiped with the rendering engine Turbo, it IS the fastest browser on Earth!
definitely, and check that out, other browsers will eventually reproduce the Turbo technology like they have done with the tons of innovations that Opera came up with first (speed dial, tab browsing, wand, content blocking, history, panels, skinning, mobile toolbars, customization, privacy management, mail and rss integration, etc., etc., etc.), nothing wrong there, on the opposite, i'm for the diffusion of performance and good taste, as long as the borrowers credit the source and don't claim the innovations are theirs,
Opera is the best, period

I use FireFox 3.5, and I agree, it is slower... plus it crashes a lot... can't wait for a patch that fixes these issues...

being a text-based browser, so not displaying non-text content like images and videos, and even if it can launch the programs to handle them, lynx will never appeal to the general public...

I like your approach to it, it's very refreshing to see someone who doesn't want Everything-And-The-Kitchen-Sink plugged into their browser.

My opinion is that if the means to the end are used so often as browsers, you'd want to think about making a good choice. Similiar to purchasing a car. The car in itself only gets you from A to B, but there are a lot of long term factors we take into account. Of course, since the browser is free, there's a lot less weight in the decision, but generally you'd want a browser that gives you exactly what you're looking for.

I've been using Opera for the past year or so. Occasional, EXTREMELY rare problems with layout / display, but generally it's as smooth as slick, and yes, it's insanely fast.

But my reason for picking Opera is the amazing built in email / RSS client.

I've been using Cruz on the mac the past couple of weeks. It's a social browser (like Flock, but different), that's basically a cocoa app. It takes a little bit to configure exactly the way you want it, but once you do it's kind of worth it. It's good at enabling you to watch all of your social web activities all at once. Great for second screen browsing.

Opera forever! I quite like Firefox, I keep it installed on my machine, but I rarely use it. I'm an Opera browser absolute fan, the fastest, safest, coolest, sexiest browser.

I'm a huge advocate of Firefox (the tabbed browsing on newest IE still doesn't quite do it for me), I've recently become a fan of Chrome, but ONLY for use on my netbook. Chrome's layout makes much better use of the smaller screen real-estate on the netbook, and that's a huge plus.

Some browser are missing in the list:

Wyzo- a Firefox based Browser, AOl Explorer, Aol 9.1 but I think people not using that much AOl browsers& Songbird browser with advanced audio streaming features and built in media player with library based on Mozilla Technology.

I like Wyzo And Flock personally..Flock for social Integration and Wyzo for the UI and Download speed. Wyzo UI is really really good similar to Google Chrome but they used it as a revers side.

The one missing in the list is Ti-Took (titook.net). Ti-Took is not a web browser per say. Ti-Took is a web browser environment, which comes with a web browser (based on Google Chrome) and a management tool allowing you to browse the web in a personalized and secure way. Ti-Took could be use with Firefox, IE and Chrome. Please check it out.

I've been using Camino ever since I discovered it a year ago. I've had no problems with it - it seems to work great. Although integration of the usual features seems to lag per release (like reordering tabs), I like the idea of a browser that uses the Cocoa API. Plus, when anyone else uses my computer they usually pass over Camino for a more familiar browser like Firefox or Safari (both excellent browsers, my preference in Safari), and I feel fine leaving my keychain working with Camino. I'm interested for any feedback on Shiira.

I love Chrome - very fast and friendly. Doesn't work with the occasional sites (like some old crappy sites and internal corporate stuff) so I switch to IE if I need to visit them.

FF is way, way too buggy. And slow.

Ahhh...the browser wars revisited. let's see...my current experience is that IE8 locks up my computer or crashes. I had to use a special software that guts IE8 to get it to finally work right. I tried using Safari but it won't work with many website functionality like my bank and it has a tendency to fold up and die if I ask too much of it like interacting with a website. I love FireFox but I use it strictly for SEO. I have so many SEO toolbars loaded into it now that it's useless for simple browsing.

IE is still the only browesr that seems to work with every website I visit and use. However, I do highly recommend FireFox if you haven't turned yours into a fire-breathing SEO machine!
